What I'm looking for

I am seeking a clinical bioinformatics role where I can apply and expand diagnostic NGS expertise, lead service improvements, work within a UKAS-accredited lab, mentor trainees, and contribute to multidisciplinary clinical decision-making.

I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist in Bioinformatics Genomics with specialist experience implementing, troubleshooting and validating NGS pipelines for diagnostic genetic services, and contributing to UKAS-accredited laboratory quality systems. I have led service development projects, supervised staff, trained pre-registration Healthcare Scientists and STP trainees, and routinely attend MDTs to provide clinical bioinformatics input.

My background includes MSc Clinical Bioinformatics Genomics (Distinction) and hands-on roles processing complex NGS workflows, WGS sample preparation, and participation in internal/external quality assurance and clinical audits. I am organized, self-motivated, meticulous, and skilled in Python, R, Nextflow, MySQL and a range of bioinformatics tools, committed to delivering accurate, timely diagnostic services and continuous service improvement.
