Hannah Wilmot
@hannahwilmot
I am a special education teacher specializing in reading intervention and individualized student success.
What I'm looking for
I am a licensed special education teacher with an Illinois Professional Educator License (May 2020) and endorsements in Learning Behavior Specialist I and ESL. I am completing a Master of Science in Reading Education and anticipate a Reading Specialist Endorsement in May 2025.
I have taught students across elementary to high school levels, including classrooms for autism, emotional and behavioral disabilities, and alternative settings. I design and deliver differentiated instruction, run Read180 and fundamentals of reading, and teach core subjects and pre-vocational skills.
My day-to-day work centers on writing IEPs, BIPs, conducting FBAs, and leading progress monitoring and standardized assessments to guide instruction. I collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — including BCBAs, therapists, and families — and serve as a case manager facilitating IEP meetings and parent communication.
I am organized and data-driven, comfortable supervising 1:1 staff and implementing behavior supports, crisis prevention protocols, and assistive technology. I seek opportunities to continue improving reading outcomes and to contribute to inclusive, evidence-based programming.
