Eric Eustice
@ericeustice
Enterprise chief medical officer leading emergency quality, peer review governance, and patient safety across large health systems.
What I'm looking for
I’m a physician executive serving as Chief Medical Officer while also leading Emergency Medicine and Network Peer Review governance within a 1M+ patient, 20,000+ employee integrated academic health system. I build credibility across operational authority and governance-level oversight—so clinical strategy and quality/safety move together, not in silos.
I architected and implemented the health network’s peer review governance system “from the ground up,” replacing fragmented, campus-level review with a standardized enterprise-level framework now used across the organization. In parallel, I provide executive oversight for an Emergency Department exceeding 300,000 annual visits, directing throughput and evidence-based pathways that sustain a Left-Without-Being-Seen (LWBS) rate under 1%—well ahead of national benchmarks.
Across my roles, I develop evidence-based clinical protocols informed by enterprise health system analytics, evaluate performance gaps using healthcare data/outcomes interpretation, and drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes and system efficiency. I also oversee clinical governance programs (peer review, physician performance evaluation, credentialing, and risk management) and ensure regulatory readiness and accreditation compliance (TJC, CMS, ACEP), while mentoring leaders and fostering a culture of scientific rigor, continuous learning, and quality improvement.
