I’m an experienced Bioinformatician with a PhD in Bioinformatics and over 15 years of research and industry experience. My strength is building genomics and metagenomics pipelines and translating complex scientific needs into reliable, scalable solutions.
In my current Data Engineering role at Johnson & Johnson (Contract), I develop Python- and SQL-based data pipelines on Domino Data Lab to support scientific data curation and management workflows. I work closely with data curators, scientists, and engineering teams to turn business requirements into technical outcomes.
Previously as a Bioinformatics Consultant at Cencora Pharmalex in Germany, I developed and maintained Snakemake-based genomics workflows on HPC, and contributed to an R-based scientific application on Databricks for scalable genomic analyses. I also performed comprehensive testing to ensure product stability and accuracy, and ran platform demonstrations and technical workshops for stakeholders.
Earlier in my career, I worked on large-scale genomic datasets at Scion in New Zealand, including advanced visualization and copy number variation analysis for the Kauri dieback pathogen. I’ve also examined NGS data from PacBio and ONT platforms and established robust protocols for bacterial genome assembly and annotation across multiple NGS technologies.
