What I'm looking for

Remote contract work (40 h/week, or a full-time full-stack role) on React, Next.js, React Native, Node.js or Django products, especially payments, KYC, mobility and real-time apps. Nairobi-based (UTC+3) with good overlap with Europe; can start within a week.

At Grabride, I’m building rider and driver apps for a Kenyan ride-hailing platform with React Native and TypeScript. I built driver KYC onboarding with document uploads, a selfie and liveness check, and a verification flow that keeps drivers offline until approved.

At BeatBnk Limited, I shipped product features across a Next.js front end and Node.js microservices supporting 50,000+ users. I integrated M-Pesa and Paystack payments, reaching a 99.9% success rate across 1,000+ transactions in the first month.

On Swift POS, I built a multi-tenant platform for retail and restaurants, including web and mobile apps, inventory and sales features, and M-Pesa STK Push payments. I’ve also built real-time gaming and savings-group products with TypeScript, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

Before that I was Tech Lead (contract) at Cheddaz Bet, a sports-betting platform, leading 2-3 engineers and owning architecture and code review. We delivered near real-time bet updates for 10,000+ concurrent users and automated bet settlement, saving 15 hours of manual work a week. I work across React, Next.js, React Native, Node.js, Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, GitHub Actions and AWS (EC2, S3, RDS), and I’m available for remote contract work at 40 hours a week from Nairobi (UTC+3).
