What I'm looking for

A remote or Brisbane-based role where I'm trusted to find slow, manual processes and replace them with automation and AI. I'm targeting AI engineering, automation and analytics engineering roles, especially in regulated industries like financial services and energy, where the data can't leave the building. I do my best work with autonomy and clear outcomes to aim at.

I find the manual work organisations have learned to live with, and I automate it out of existence. Since May 2025 I've done that at the Essential Services Commission, Victoria's independent economic regulator, where everything has to hold up to audit.

My main builds there:

An R pipeline that validates quarterly regulatory data from energy retailers. It cut the process from 12+ days to under 3.
A reporting system that turned weeks of report generation into a 10-minute rerun.
A rebuilt licence fee pipeline that passed VAGO's FY2025–26 audit with no significant control deficiencies.

I also built the Commission's first locally deployed, multi-model AI pipeline (WhisperX and Pyannote). It transcribed thousands of enforcement call recordings without any audio leaving the team's infrastructure. In my own time I built and open-sourced a pipeline that transcribes recordings and summarises them with the Claude API.

I came to data after 22 years in hospitality, 15 of them leading kitchen teams as a Head Chef. I taught myself analytics and landed my first data role within about a year.

What interests me most now is the groundwork that makes AI usable: documented processes, structured knowledge and clear context, with agents built on top of that. I'm especially interested in regulated organisations where the data can't leave the building. I'm looking for AI engineering, automation and analytics engineering roles, remote or Brisbane-based, and I'm relocating to Brisbane in December 2026.

Working independently, I turned interview transcripts into structured insights using qualitative and quantitative analysis, and built analysis-ready datasets in Python and Excel. My Canva reports put the findings in plain language, informing community health recommendations and earning an invitation to future work.

Retail Forex Trader

Traded my own forex portfolio full-time for almost four years. I analysed large sets of market data and built systematic backtesting and risk management into my strategies, which lifted my win/loss performance by 31% and cut losses by 25%.
