Cynthia Gakuu

At Project 82 Kenya Foundation’s House of Hope, I lead family-based care advocacy, child-protection interventions, reunification follow-up, home visits, and stakeholder coordination as a Senior Social Worker.

I progressed from Assistant Social Worker to Senior Social Worker, supporting vulnerable children and families through case management, household assessments, family strengthening, reintegration, reporting, and safeguarding. I also supervise and mentor social work staff, maintain government reporting, and represent the organisation in community and stakeholder forums.

My work also includes counselling and psychosocial support, civil education and advocacy with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission, and support for vulnerable girls, survivors of violence, children with special needs, and trafficking survivors. I bring over 12 years of combined volunteer, attachment, and professional experience, supported by a Master of Development Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work.
