Ciara Hummer

I’m a compassionate mental health professional beginning a degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology, and I build my practice around crisis response, patient safety, and continuity of care. I’ve taken on progressively responsible roles in inpatient mental health and recovery settings, supporting individuals across mental health, substance use, and dual-diagnosis challenges.

In my current role as a Client Care Coordinator at Indiana Center for Recovery, I facilitate daily new-patient orientation sessions for up to 20 clients and help ensure a safe, structured inpatient environment. I also perform AMA (Against Medical Advice) prevention and intervention strategies and collaborate with clinical and medical staff across detox, mental health, high-acuity, and PHP/IOP programs.

Previously, I served as a Mental Health Technician / Case Manager (promoted through multiple roles), monitoring and supporting up to 40 patients per unit in a high-acuity inpatient setting. I completed safety rounds for risk management, provided crisis de-escalation support and behavioral observation, managed a caseload of up to 25 clients, and coordinated with clinical staff to support individualized care plans and discharge readiness.

I also strengthened my crisis foundation through crisis intervention and intake work with Youth Service Bureau – Safe Station Homeless Shelter, where I conducted crisis intake assessments and responded to crisis calls with immediate stabilization support. Throughout my work, I bring strong empathy, resilience, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork—supported by my CPR and CPI certifications.
