Carlos Novo
@carlosnovo
I build high-performance C++ cores and native iOS/Android apps for real-time products.
What I'm looking for
At Pixowl, I build and maintain native iOS and Android layers over a large Cocos2d-x C++ core, shipping consumer games including Peanuts: Snoopy's Town Tale, Goosebumps Horror Town, and Addams Family: Mystery Mansion.
I own engine modules, gameplay systems, rendering, UI, and asset pipelines, while integrating analytics, crash reporting, attribution, social login, consent, in-app purchases, offerwalls, and ad mediation.
I run iOS release, signing, and multi-platform build pipelines, and focus on the real-time performance, memory, throughput, concurrency, and timing issues that emerge in mature codebases. I also contribute to Node.js/Express and Redis services deployed with Docker and AWS S3.
Earlier, I developed C++ automotive HMI components for Bosch through Altran, including state-machine controllers and CANoe validation. Alongside my systems work, I build Python data and AI systems using PostgreSQL, pgvector, Docker Compose, CI/CD, RAG evaluation, multi-agent reasoning, and observability.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
- Built and maintained the native platform layers on iOS (Objective-C/Objective-C++/Swift) and Android (Java, JNI-bridged to the C++ core), and led end-to-end integration of the full SDK and monetisation stack: analytics, crash reporting, attribution, social login, consent management, IAP, offerwall and ad mediation across roughly a dozen networks.
- Ran the iOS release and signing pipeline end to
- Built game features and custom engine components in C++ using Cocos2dx and Cocos Studio
- Contributed to proprietary in-house tooling and pipeline improvements
- Participated in full game development lifecycle from prototyping through store deployment
Bosch | Altran DE - HMI infotainment system
- Developed HMI components in C++ for a proprietary automotive infotainment system
- Acted as technical reference within the development team, supporting code reviews and technical decisions
- Applied automotive-grade software standards including rigorous testing and documentation processes
- Worked within Agile workflows (Scrum and Kanban) and Git-base
