What I'm looking for

I am seeking a role that allows me to utilize my skills in health education and research while contributing to community well-being and engagement.

I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Salem College, where I achieved a GPA of 3.93. My academic journey has been complemented by hands-on clinical experience, including my role as a Volunteer Crisis Counselor at Crisis Text Line, where I successfully facilitated crisis resolution and implemented proactive support protocols for at-risk individuals. My commitment to enhancing emotional well-being is evident in my volunteer work with Project Sunshine, where I developed therapeutic activities for children facing medical challenges, significantly improving their morale and recovery rates.

In addition to my volunteer work, I have gained valuable research experience as an intern at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where I investigated adipose tissue variations in primates, contributing to our understanding of obesity mechanisms. My research has not only refined methodologies but also provided insights that could lead to targeted treatments for obesity and diabetes. I am passionate about bridging the gap between complex scientific research and community awareness, as demonstrated through my independent research on COVID-19's effects on the olfactory epithelium.

With strong communication skills and a commitment to community engagement, I have also contributed to various initiatives, including enhancing outreach for the Shalom Project and serving as a Health Educator with Peer Health Exchange. I am eager to leverage my skills and experiences in a role that allows me to make a meaningful impact in health education and research.
