Ábel Szabó

I am an organisational and social psychologist with five years of experience in the research of human behaviour - especially in connection to sustainability. My skills and capabilities include designing and executing studies, analysing data using quantitative and qualitative methodology, disseminating results for stakeholders, interested academics, and the general public, and manage administrative tasks (such as budgeting, financial reporting) in connection to projects.

I’ve acquired these through two scholarships and a student research assistant position. The scholarships amount to a sum of around 27000 Eur and was provided by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt - once in the framework of a Guest Researcher position at the University of Hohenheim in Germany, and once to support my research project involving an international research collaboration. While these gave me experience with managing a research project, my student research assistant at the Institute of People-Environment Transaction of the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary, gave me a solid foundation when it comes to various fields such as education science and marketing psychology.

To describe my capabilities in more detail: I analyse large datasets with statistical softwares (SPSS, Stata, Amos, SmartPLS), using methods including EFA, CFA, SEM, regression, Rasch-analysis, and cluster analysis. I've also developed and tested my own scale and adapted existing scales for new national contexts. Furthermore, I helped plan and oversee psychological experiments, including marketing and behavioural research. I conducted and analysed interviews, drafted journal articles independently, and supported research-project administration and communication. I also have a knowledge of various languages to different levels: English (C2, IELTS 8.5), Hungarian (Native), German (B1), Dutch (A2).

Right now my main interest is to find applications for my obtained experiences at academia in new fields and develop myself with new and enhanced skills.
