Anna Materikina

I'm a multidisciplinary architect, urban designer, and 3D generalist with 13+ years of experience working at the intersection of the built environment and digital media. My background runs from large-scale architecture and master-planning projects through to immersive 3D visuals, metaverse environments, audio-visual production, and front-end web development, and I'm at my best when those worlds overlap.

On the architecture side, I hold a Master of Urban Planning and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Moscow Architectural Institute (State Academy). I've led design teams on residential and mixed-use projects from concept through construction documentation, delivered full design sets in ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino, and produced photorealistic visualisations and animations in V-Ray, Unreal Engine, and Twinmotion. My work has spanned Russia, the UAE, and Europe, and includes award-winning projects — most notably a "Best Project" award from the Ministry of Architecture and Construction Complex of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Union of Architects of Yakutia, plus a 2nd-place finish in an international landscaping concept competition.

In parallel, I've built a strong creative-technology practice. I worked in a metaverse concert agency and built Web/VR pavilions and concert environments using Unreal Engine, Blender, and TouchDesigner, including a pavilion with 20+ international artists for The Wrong Biennale. Worked extensively as a live video engineer and V, delivered an immersive audio-visual installation for the prehistoric Grotte du Lazaret in France as part of Le Printemps des Poètes (launched by the French Ministry of Culture), founded the international mobile exhibition platform METANAV', and curated and produced Panopticon 480 km festival - 18 events across 7 cities, with 100+ artists and 1,300+ visitors.

I've also worked in digital marketing as a Senior Designer, building and maintaining marketing sites and landing pages in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Figma, and running on-page, technical, and content SEO programmes that improved organic visibility for B2B clients.

My core toolset spans architecture and BIM (ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, QGIS); real-time and motion (Blender, Unreal Engine, Twinmotion, TouchDesigner, 3ds Max); the full Adobe suite plus Figma; and front-end web with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I keep learning across these fields, with recent training including Harvard's CS50x. I work in English (fluent) and Russian (native) with elementary Arabic and basic Spanish

I'm looking for roles where I can combine spatial design with technology and storytelling — whether that's architecture and master planning, 3D visualisation and real-time environments, immersive/metaverse and AV experiences, or front-end and creative-tech work that ties them together. I'm based in Abu Dhabi and open to remote and international opportunities.
