At Oregon Health & Science University, I study cochlear and neural mechanisms of aminoglycoside-induced ototoxicity and factors associated with hearing-loss risk. My research includes patients with cystic fibrosis and preterm infants.
As Principal Investigator, I studied genetic markers of susceptibility or resistance to aminoglycoside-induced ototoxicity and led research on kinematic analyses for detecting aminoglycoside-induced vestibular loss. I also served as Co-I and Lead Audiologist on a study of ORC-13661 for ototoxicity prevention.
I combine clinical audiology with research on auditory and vestibular health. My work also examines auditory development and measures such as otoacoustic emissions, evoked response potentials, and wideband tympanometry.
