At The Florey Institute for Neuroscience and Mental Health, University of Melbourne, I investigated how MDMA and psilocybin affect fear extinction and alcohol-seeking behavior in rodent models. I used RNA sequencing to examine transcriptomic and epigenetic changes associated with psychedelic-induced behavioral effects.
At Vanderbilt University Medical Center, I led an independent Honors Neuroscience project on sex-specific neural circuit mechanisms in nicotine addiction and sensory reinforcement. I used behavioral assays and Fast-Scan Cyclic Voltammetry to study dopamine signaling, then analyzed the data for my thesis, presentations, and publications.
At Mayo Clinic, I investigated alpha-synuclein seeding activity in Lewy body disease brain fractions using RT-QuIC. I also worked with brain organoid culture and RNA extraction.
My research has included addiction, neuropharmacology, psychedelic science, and neurodegenerative disease. I’m also a published researcher, fluent in Spanish, with advanced/working proficiency in Portuguese.
