What I'm looking for

I'm looking to apply my communications, teaching, storytelling, coaching, and workshop-facilitation experience to engage learners, develop leaders, and help organizations navigate complex issues with practical, people-centred strategies.

I've led communications, marketing, storytelling, and public-speaking work through Vocal Point Communications since 1992, serving government, education, corporate, tourism, retail, not-for-profit, sports, and arts clients. My work spans brand management, crisis communications, community engagement, media relations, event planning, sustainability, strategic leadership, and writing.

At the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, I managed communications for 10,000 organizational stakeholders and generated approximately $1 million in publicity, advertising, and sponsorships on a $30,000 advertising budget. I also helped grow Sidney Health Fair attendance by 400%, negotiated more than $155,000 in sponsorships on an $11,000 budget, and increased media coverage by 400–800%.

I've taught communications, marketing, public relations, media relations, public speaking, and writing at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, BCIT, the University of Victoria, Camosun College, Trebas Art Institute, and the City of Nanaimo. I bring more than three decades of coaching, mentoring, curriculum development, and learner-centred teaching to help people communicate with confidence and higher-level critical thinking.
