Ana Lucía Leiva Casiano

I’m an English–Spanish Translator and Interpreter with experience across medical, academic, NGO, and audiovisual contexts. I’m detail-oriented and reliable, focused on delivering accurate translations in remote and multicultural environments.

In my current role as Coordinator/Assistant/Interpreter (EN–ES) at Global Brigades NGO, I deliver real-time interpretation during medical, dental, optical, and nutrition consultations. I facilitate communication between international teams and local patients, and support coordination of international volunteers in multicultural settings.

Previously, I interpreted ophthalmology consultations and procedures with HELPS International NGO, ensuring clear, accurate communication between doctors and patients. I also worked as a Translation Intern at Library of Dentistry, USAC, translating academic books and specialized materials while maintaining accuracy and consistent terminology.

I’ve expanded my scope through translation work for institutional audiences and audiovisual adaptation. I translated and adapted a Bollywood movie script from English into Spanish, adjusting language for cultural relevance and natural flow, and I’m building my foundation with a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics with a specialty in Translation and Interpretation.
