What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a middle school role where I can help students build strong historical thinking and research writing, supported by collaboration, meaningful feedback, and a classroom culture that values inquiry, discussion, and individualized growth.

I’m a certified professional educator with a Middle School endorsement in Social Studies and Education, and I focus on making learning relevant, rigorous, and student-centered. I build lessons that align with state curriculum standards while encouraging critical thinking through discussion and structured inquiry.

In my classroom work, I develop engaging lesson plans using lectures, discussions, and multimedia presentations, then assess understanding through assessments and formative checks. I support diverse learners with individualized and one-on-one tutoring, differentiated lesson plans, and targeted guidance for selecting sources and developing arguments.

I also design learning experiences that students actively participate in—project-based learning with primary sources (letters, diaries, maps), debates and simulations, and lessons that integrate current events. During remote learning, I used online platforms such as Google Classroom to keep virtual discussions and assignments meaningful and consistent.

Previously, at Hansberry College Prep, I taught academic research methodologies, including ethical citation practices (MLA), thesis development, and research question formation. I provided detailed feedback on drafts, led peer-review workshops, and integrated instruction on plagiarism prevention and research ethics, supported by rubrics, conferencing, and guidance on using academic databases.
