At the Court of Appeal of Montpellier, I translate official and legal documents between Arabic and French, including civil records, court decisions, diplomas, and licences. I work with regional terminology and naming conventions across Arabic-speaking countries, while maintaining consistent terminology and checking each translation carefully.
I built standard templates and AI-assisted workflows to make translations faster and more reliable. My work also involves checking Arabic texts for accuracy, meaning, register, and cultural context, and explaining translation choices in writing.
At Damascus University and Université Paris Nanterre, I taught private international law and international trade law. I wrote and corrected exam questions and explained complex legal ideas in clear Arabic and French.
As Dr Ali, I write and record educational content in Arabic about law and administrative procedures for Arabic-speaking communities in France, using everyday Levantine and Modern Standard Arabic. I’m also researching AI and the law, including civil liability for AI, AI and arbitration awards, and the EU AI Act and private international law.
