At AstroPay, I re-engineered a core financial reconciliation platform to handle 1.5M+ daily operations, cutting settlement runtime from >1 hour to <2 minutes through concurrent job execution and idempotent retries. I reduced AWS EC2 infrastructure costs by 50% using Little’s Law capacity analysis across 11 HikariCP pools, lowering max DB connections from 8,540 to 660 and freeing 6.5GB of JVM memory on a 32GB instance.

I also eliminated a 33s latency gap by replacing per-job thread pools (~570 concurrent threads) with a shared bounded pool (100 threads, CallerRunsPolicy), bringing end-to-end job latency down by 94%. I built concurrency-driven SQS bulk operations for 2M+ account cancellations in 24h with retry/pause controls and real-time monitoring, while discovering and resolving a critical MySQL driver bottleneck via batched multi-row inserts.

Earlier, at Disney Streaming (via Globant), I optimized the highest-traffic endpoints for Star+ and Hulu, reducing response time from 30s to <500ms (98%) by removing blocking calls and restructuring the critical query path. I strengthened reliability and security by fixing production traffic-splitting defects, integrating HashiCorp Vault with Kubernetes, implementing AWS Cognito authentication in Kotlin microservices, and standardizing CI/CD with Jenkins, Helm, and Spinnaker—plus I built ETL and encryption/2FA capabilities at Novatronic.
