Building in-house AI tooling and infrastructure to enhance developer productivity. Designing and establishing new engineering processes for integrating AI capabilities into existing workflows.

Played a big part in eliminating technical debt of a large legacy project by cleaning old code, improving testing infrastructure, and introducing new tools and ideas. Mentored teammates to improve their software development skills, especially in testing.

Played a key role in refactoring a legacy codebase to React and raised the technical standards of the project. Migrated the team from Enzyme to @testing-library integration tests and promoted good testing practices through regular tech talks.

Built and led frontend and mobile teams from the ground up; taught 11 developers and organized real-task onboarding from day one. Architected a horizontally-scalable microservices backend deployed on a self-managed, highly-available Kubernetes cluster in AWS.

Led a distributed volunteer engineering team for a non-profit, open-publishing platform. Managed contributors with varying availability.

Co-founded a small web studio and handled end-to-end delivery: frontend, backend, deployment, infrastructure, and client negotiations. Built the majority of projects on Ruby on Rails, including a proprietary Rails admin panel; later expanded the stack to include Node.js (MeteorJS).

Delivered web projects for clients ranging from small businesses to large enterprises such as Nestle Russia. Worked primarily with Ruby on Rails; gained additional experience with C# and Objective-C for platform-specific projects.

Pursued a Master's degree in East Asian Studies from 2010 to 2015.
