@alanahjames
Criminal justice professional focused on reducing recidivism through evidence-based interventions.
What I'm looking for
I am a criminal justice professional with academic training from the University of South Florida and hands-on experience in corrections, probation, and law enforcement environments. I completed internships and a role with the Florida Department of Corrections where I managed offender intake, data entry, and case screening using OBIS and CDC databases.
During my Jacksonville Sheriff's Office internship I observed patrol operations, correctional facility procedures, and investigative practices, gaining exposure to evidence collection, interviewing techniques, and rehabilitation program delivery. In my role as a parole/probation specialist I handled intake processing, interpreted sentencing documents, and requested criminal record information from NCIC/FCIC and local systems.
I bring strong critical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, technology proficiency, and cultural competence, and I am committed to applying evidence-based strategies and policy analysis to reduce recidivism and improve outcomes for justice-involved individuals.
