Ala'a Khtoum
@alaakhtoum
I’m a partnership program management and compliance leader driving programme quality, localisation, and evidence-based humanitarian impact.
What I'm looking for
I’m a humanitarian professional with over nine years of experience leading programme management quality, strategic partnerships, localisation, and compliance across multi-country contexts (Syria, Jordan, Türkiye, Sudan, Ukraine). I provide strategic support and oversight for country portfolios while delivering demand-driven technical support.
I’ve built and led partnership program management and compliance functions, including creating the first compliance and partnership department at World Vision International (WVI) and setting a global benchmark. In crises, I coordinate programme incident management, risk escalation, and compliance reporting, including support during the Türkiye Earthquake Response, Beirut explosion, Yemen and Syria crises, Sudan conflict and Burkina Faso.
Across my roles, I integrate programmes with advocacy, campaigns, and cross-thematic Nexus programming to maximise impact through evidence-based approaches. I’m also recognised for visionary leadership and high-level representation, strengthening strategic partnerships with donors, governments, and local actors.
From workforce planning to capacity building, I strengthen sustainability by supporting local partners and technical teams. I’m committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, embedding locally led and inclusive approaches across recruitment, professional development, and programme delivery.
