ABAY Mukhtaruly

I’m a Laboratory Assistant at Nazarbayev University’s Computer Science department, responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment and conducting checks and revision of laboratory consumables. Alongside my lab work, I build software projects and explore AI solutions that solve real terminology and language challenges.

My background mixes hands-on IT support with systematic technical ownership. I’ve worked as an IT-Specialist handling computer/equipment maintenance, system administration of Windows Server, and managing local networks of PCs; I also provided technical support and maintained network equipment, and later performed light refurbishment and diagnostics for internet equipment.

Academically and professionally, I focus on cross-lingual NLP and multilingual applications—publishing research such as “Cross-lingual NLP for Industry Terminology” and presenting work on industry terminology harmonization through AI-driven models. In projects, I created a React/Java Spring/MongoDB discount system and a Kazakh dictionary mobile app using Flutter with TensorFlow, ML Kit, and Google Translation API, which earned 3rd place in a university research competition.
