Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Surveyor to lead our surveying team and oversee all survey-related activities for our projects. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and precise surveying operations that align with our strategic objectives and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the surveying team, providing mentorship and guidance on best practices and methodologies
- Develop and implement survey strategies and standards to ensure compliance with regulations and project specifications
- Conduct complex land surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys, utilizing advanced surveying technology
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to assess project requirements and provide expert surveying insights
- Review and approve survey plans, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage surveying resources, including equipment and personnel, to optimize productivity and efficiency
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to enhance surveying practices and methodologies
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in surveying, with a proven track record of managing survey teams and projects
- Professional Surveyor (PS) license or equivalent certification
- Extensive knowledge of land surveying principles, practices, and technology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
Preferred:
- Experience in managing large-scale construction or civil engineering projects
- Proficiency in survey software and tools, including AutoCAD, GIS, and surveying instruments
- Master's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in land surveying methodologies and technologies
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping software
- Proficient in using total stations, GPS, and other surveying equipment
