Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous Surveying Supervisor to oversee our surveying operations and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our data collection processes. In this in-person role, you will lead a team of surveyors, manage fieldwork, and collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver precise surveying results that align with project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate field surveying activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards
- Review and validate surveying data collected by team members, providing guidance on methodologies and techniques
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, plans, and specifications
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and resolve any onsite challenges
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines
- Mentor and train junior surveyors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in surveying, with a proven track record of managing teams
- Strong knowledge of surveying instruments and software, including GPS, total stations, and CAD
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
- Experience in construction surveying and site development projects
- Familiarity with GIS technologies and data analysis
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as levels, theodolites, and GPS systems
- Experience with CAD software for drafting and design
- Understanding of surveying principles, land use regulations, and legal boundaries
