Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Program Manager to lead and oversee the development and implementation of educational programs tailored for students with diverse learning needs. This role is crucial in ensuring that our special education initiatives align with best practices and comply with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate special education programs that meet the needs of students with disabilities
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and external stakeholders to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and support services
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of special education programs and make recommendations for improvements
- Provide training and professional development for staff on special education best practices and legal compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education
- Manage program budgets and resources effectively to maximize student outcomes
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Special Education, Education Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in special education program management or related roles
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred:
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of culturally responsive practices
- Certification in special education or educational leadership
- Experience with data analysis to inform program decisions and improvements
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in educational management software and tools for student tracking
- Understanding of assistive technologies and their application in special education
- Familiarity with data analysis tools to assess program effectiveness
