Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Director (Pre-K) to lead our early childhood education initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of high-quality special education programs for preschool-aged children. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and community partners to ensure that all children receive the support they need to thrive in a learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the special education program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.
- Provide guidance and support to educators on best practices for inclusive teaching and learning strategies.
- Conduct observations and assessments to monitor student progress and program effectiveness.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills in special education.
- Engage with families and community stakeholders to promote understanding and advocacy for special education services.
- Manage the special education budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in special education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective educational programs for young children with special needs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience working with preschool-aged children and their families.
- Certification in Special Education Administration or related credentials.
- Familiarity with early childhood education frameworks and best practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools to assess student performance and program outcomes.
- Experience with special education software and IEP management systems.
