Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Respiratory Therapy to lead our respiratory care services. This role is critical in defining and implementing best practices in respiratory therapy, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering an innovative culture within the department. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and drive operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive respiratory therapy programs that align with organizational goals and regulatory standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of respiratory therapists, promoting professional growth and adherence to best practices
- Monitor and analyze clinical performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives based on data insights
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to establish protocols and treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and staffing to optimize service delivery
- Engage in community outreach and education initiatives to promote respiratory health awareness
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in respiratory therapy or related healthcare management
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care practices, policies, and regulations
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive strategic initiatives
Preferred:
- Experience in telehealth or remote respiratory care services
- Board certification in respiratory therapy management or equivalent
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data analytics
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in respiratory therapy equipment and technology, including ventilators and diagnostic tools
- Ability to analyze and interpret clinical data to inform decision-making
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to respiratory care
