Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Respiratory Care to lead our respiratory therapy department. In this role, you will leverage your extensive clinical expertise and strategic insight to enhance patient outcomes, optimize departmental workflows, and drive innovation in respiratory care practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of respiratory care programs that align with organizational goals and regulatory standards
- Oversee clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality respiratory care services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients
- Lead and mentor a team of respiratory therapists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to establish protocols, guidelines, and best practices for respiratory care
- Utilize data analytics to monitor departmental performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement evidence-based interventions
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing to ensure the efficient operation of the respiratory care department
- Engage in community outreach and education initiatives to promote respiratory health and awareness
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in respiratory care, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and state licensure
- Proven track record of implementing quality improvement initiatives in a healthcare setting
Preferred:
- Experience within an acute care hospital or large healthcare system
- Board certification in Respiratory Care or related specialty
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards and compliance issues related to respiratory therapy
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and respiratory care management software
- Familiarity with telehealth technologies and their application in respiratory care
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret clinical data and drive decision-making
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage various stakeholders
