Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Director of Respiratory Therapy who will lead our respiratory therapy department, driving clinical excellence and innovative patient care strategies. This role is crucial in developing policies, enhancing program efficacy, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, all while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and assess respiratory therapy programs that align with the organization's strategic goals and enhance patient outcomes
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of respiratory therapists, ensuring high-quality clinical practice and continuous professional development
- Oversee quality assurance and improvement initiatives, monitoring key performance metrics and clinical outcomes
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to design integrated care pathways that optimize patient treatment
- Stay abreast of industry advancements and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices
- Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively, ensuring sustainable and efficient operations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care standards, regulations, and best practices
- Proven ability to lead teams and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence
Preferred:
- Doctorate in a relevant field
- Experience with telehealth or remote patient monitoring initiatives
- Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Demonstrated success in program development and implementation
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- In-depth understanding of respiratory therapy equipment and technologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools to monitor clinical outcomes and program effectiveness
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms
