Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Medical Dosimetrist to lead our team in developing innovative treatment plans that maximize patient outcomes while minimizing exposure to radiation. In this pivotal role, you will utilize your expertise in radiation therapy physics and treatment planning to drive excellence in dosimetry practices and ensure the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the dosimetry team in creating and implementing advanced treatment plans, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to optimize treatment techniques and methodologies.
- Oversee the training and development of junior dosimetrists, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Conduct quality assurance processes for treatment plans, ensuring accuracy in dose delivery and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and advancements in dosimetry, integrating them into clinical practice where appropriate.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Medical Dosimetry or related field.
- Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in radiation oncology.
- Extensive knowledge of radiation physics, treatment planning systems, and quality assurance protocols.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing innovative dosimetry practices that improve patient outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a leadership role within a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with advanced treatment technologies such as IMRT, IGRT, and stereotactic techniques.
- Active participation in clinical research or professional organizations related to medical dosimetry.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in treatment planning software (e.g., Eclipse, Pinnacle, RayStation).
- Strong computational skills for dose calculations and treatment optimization.
- Familiarity with radiation safety standards and protocols.
