Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Dosimetrist to lead our dosimetry team and ensure the highest standards of patient care in radiation therapy. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of treatment planning, collaborate with radiation oncologists, and drive the implementation of innovative treatment techniques to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of dosimetrists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in treatment planning.
- Collaborate closely with physicians to design and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and safety of radiation treatment plans.
- Stay abreast of advancements in radiation therapy technology and methodologies, integrating them into clinical practice as appropriate.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops for the dosimetry team to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Act as a key liaison between the dosimetry team, radiation oncologists, and other healthcare providers to support interdisciplinary collaboration.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Medical Dosimetry or related field.
- Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
- 8+ years of experience in medical dosimetry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in treatment planning systems and radiation delivery techniques.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced treatment techniques such as IMRT, VMAT, and SRS/SBRT.
- Proficiency in the use of treatment planning software and quality assurance tools.
- Strong publication record or involvement in clinical research.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of radiation physics, radiobiology, and dosimetry principles.
- Proficiency in treatment planning systems such as Eclipse, Pinnacle, or similar.
- Familiarity with dosimetric measurement devices and quality assurance equipment.
