Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Dosimetrist to lead our dosimetry department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and radiation safety in treatment planning. In this fully remote position, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing dosimetry practices, guiding a team of dosimetrists, and collaborating with oncologists and medical physicists to develop innovative treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of dosimetrists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement robust quality assurance protocols and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with medical physicists and radiation oncologists to create individualized treatment plans using advanced dosimetry software.
- Oversee the evaluation and selection of new dosimetry technologies and methodologies to enhance treatment accuracy and safety.
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure all team members are proficient in the latest dosimetry techniques and equipment.
- Monitor and analyze treatment outcomes, utilizing data to inform best practices and drive departmental improvements.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Medical Dosimetry or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical dosimetry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
- Extensive knowledge of radiation therapy techniques, treatment planning systems, and quality assurance practices.
- Proficient in using advanced dosimetry software and tools.
Preferred:
- Experience with emerging technologies in radiation oncology, including adaptive planning and machine learning applications.
- Strong publication record in dosimetry or related research.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in treatment planning systems such as Eclipse, Pinnacle, or RayStation.
- Familiarity with radiation therapy equipment including linear accelerators and brachytherapy systems.
- Proficiency in utilizing statistical analysis tools for outcome assessment.
