Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Plant Engineering to lead our engineering initiatives in a fully remote environment. This role will be instrumental in driving engineering excellence, optimizing plant operations, and advancing our technological capabilities across multiple sites. You will leverage your extensive experience in plant engineering to influence and implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering teams across various plant locations, establishing a vision for engineering excellence and operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute engineering strategies that improve plant performance, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project execution from concept through to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of engineering systems and processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices, technology advancements, and innovative engineering solutions.
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior leadership on project status and engineering initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) with 10+ years of experience in plant engineering or operations management.
- Proven track record in leading engineering teams and managing large-scale engineering projects within manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, process improvement methodologies (such as Lean, Six Sigma), and project management.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and automation.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sustainability initiatives within engineering practices.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB) and systems.
- Familiarity with data analytics and process simulation tools.
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
