Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Payroll Associate to join our finance team. In this entry-level role, you will assist in the processing of payroll for our employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and deductions
- Maintain employee payroll records, including updates for new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status
- Support the reconciliation of payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to facilitate smooth payroll operations
- Participate in payroll audits and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of payroll processing and related regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using payroll software
Preferred:
- Previous experience in payroll or accounting roles, even in an internship capacity
- Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP or Paychex
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
