Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Payroll Assistant to join the payroll team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and regulations
- Enter and maintain employee data in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates
- Support the payroll team in resolving employee inquiries related to payroll discrepancies and provide timely feedback
- Generate payroll reports and assist in audits as required
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate flow of information regarding employee status changes
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, or related field
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Basic understanding of payroll processing and related regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software
Preferred:
- Experience using payroll software systems
- Familiarity with HRIS systems
- Prior experience in payroll or accounting roles is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of payroll software and systems
- Basic understanding of tax regulations and compliance
