Role Overview
We are searching for an experienced Marine Steamfitter Supervisor to lead our team in the installation, maintenance, and repair of marine steam systems. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the technical operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are met while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of steamfitters and other technical staff in the installation and repair of marine steam systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all phases of work.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to enhance system reliability.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of work performed, providing feedback and guidance to team members.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret blueprints and technical specifications for project execution.
- Manage inventory and procurement of materials, ensuring timely availability for ongoing projects.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring and training staff on best practices and new technologies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in marine steamfitting or a related field.
- Proven supervisory experience with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Strong understanding of steam systems, piping, and associated components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in a shipyard or marine repair environment.
- Relevant certifications in marine engineering or steamfitting.
- Familiarity with modern steam system technologies and practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of marine steam systems, including boilers, valves, and piping.
- Experience with welding techniques and tools relevant to steamfitting.
- Proficiency in safety and quality assurance methodologies in marine operations.
