Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Steamfitter Supervisor to lead our team of skilled steamfitters in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems. This critical role requires a strong technical background in steamfitting, along with proven leadership abilities to manage projects from inception to completion while ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the steamfitting team, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of steam, hot water, and other piping systems
- Conduct regular safety audits and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations on job sites
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to steamfitters, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with project managers and other trade supervisors to ensure seamless project execution and resource allocation
- Review and approve work plans, materials, and equipment needed for project tasks
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials used, and labor hours for reporting purposes
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in steamfitting or related field, including supervisory experience
- Valid steamfitter license or applicable certifications
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, installation techniques, and industry codes
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on team collaboration
Preferred:
- Experience in a construction or industrial environment
- Familiarity with project management software and tools
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Comprehensive understanding of steamfitting tools, materials, and techniques
- Proficiency in using CAD software for piping design and layout
- Experience with installation and maintenance of HVAC systems a plus
