Role Overview
As an Apprentice Marine Pipefitter, you will embark on a hands-on journey to gain expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems on various marine vessels. This role is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in a dynamic environment while supporting experienced pipefitters in executing complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation and assembly of piping systems aboard various marine vessels, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute tasks.
- Support the maintenance and repair of existing piping systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Participate in safety training and adhere to safety protocols while working in a marine environment.
- Collaborate with senior pipefitters and other trades to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interest in marine systems and a desire to learn the pipefitting trade.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a related field or completion of a vocational program in plumbing, welding, or a similar discipline.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in pipefitting.
