Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Marine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair operations of our fleet. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the reliability and efficiency of our marine vessels while leading a dedicated team of technicians and engineers. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining safety standards, optimizing operational performance, and implementing best practices within our marine operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure high-quality workmanship
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and protocols for routine inspections, repairs, and overhauls of marine vessels
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify maintenance needs and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and industry standards during all maintenance activities
- Monitor and analyze maintenance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including cost analysis and reporting
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance maintenance practices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in marine maintenance or related field, with a proven track record of supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of marine systems, including propulsion, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Experience in developing maintenance plans and managing a team in a maritime environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
Preferred:
- Certification in marine engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards in the marine industry
- Experience with project management and budget administration
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in maintenance management software and tools
- Knowledge of marine safety equipment and practices
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools for marine systems
