Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and experienced Director of Maintenance to lead and optimize our maintenance operations. This role will involve developing maintenance strategies, managing a dedicated team of technicians, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Director of Maintenance will play a crucial role in enhancing operational performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability and performance
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance professionals, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance
- Oversee budgeting and cost management for maintenance projects, ensuring financial objectives are met
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of maintenance operations and drive continuous improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues proactively
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, fostering a culture of safety within the maintenance team
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and optimize maintenance schedules and resource allocation
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS) and predictive maintenance techniques
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards relevant to maintenance operations
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools to drive insights into maintenance performance
