Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior HVAC Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to design efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for a variety of projects. You will gain hands-on experience while contributing to sustainable building design and energy efficiency initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of HVAC systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
- Conduct load calculations and energy modeling to ensure optimal system performance
- Collaborate with the engineering team to create detailed drawings and specifications using CAD software
- Participate in site visits to assess existing systems and gather information for design improvements
- Support senior engineers in preparing project documentation and reports
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles and system design
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and basic thermal analysis tools
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred:
- Internship or co-op experience in HVAC design or related field
- Familiarity with energy modeling software (e.g., EnergyPlus, TRNSYS)
- Knowledge of HVAC codes and standards
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) for creating HVAC layouts and details
- Understanding of energy efficiency practices and sustainable design principles
- Basic knowledge of HVAC control systems and technologies
