Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced HVAC systems. This pivotal role will involve overseeing engineering projects from conception to execution, ensuring adherence to industry standards and promoting innovative practices within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers in the development and execution of HVAC projects, ensuring high-quality design and implementation
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects and construction managers, to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into building designs
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide mentorship to engineering staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and innovation
- Evaluate and implement advanced technologies and practices to enhance system efficiency and sustainability
- Oversee the troubleshooting and resolution of complex HVAC system issues, leveraging data analysis and industry best practices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in HVAC design and management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
- Proficiency in HVAC design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience with energy modeling and sustainability practices in HVAC design
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of HVAC system design principles, including load calculations and HVAC controls
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies
- Familiarity with energy efficiency standards and sustainable design practices
