Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior HVAC Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will assist in the planning, design, and execution of HVAC systems across various projects, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and layout of HVAC systems for commercial and residential projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and energy efficiency guidelines.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop project specifications, including equipment selection and system performance analysis.
- Participate in site assessments and surveys to evaluate existing HVAC systems and identify opportunities for upgrades or replacements.
- Support project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure timely project completion.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, including reports, drawings, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development through mentorship and training opportunities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of HVAC principles, systems, and equipment.
- Familiarity with engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculation software).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Internship or co-op experience in HVAC design or project engineering.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations related to HVAC installations.
- Certification in relevant engineering software or HVAC design methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency with CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Revit for HVAC design.
- Understanding of energy-efficient design practices and sustainability standards.
- Familiarity with HVAC control systems and building management systems (BMS).
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also taking initiative on individual tasks.
