Role Overview
We are looking for an exceptional Head of Histopathology to lead our histopathology team in delivering high-quality diagnostic services. This role is critical in advancing our commitment to providing accurate and timely pathology services, ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic excellence while promoting innovation and research in histopathology.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the histopathology department, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to industry standards
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance diagnostic capabilities and service delivery
- Oversee the interpretation of histopathological data and provide expert guidance on complex cases
- Mentor and train histopathology staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate histopathological insights into broader clinical strategies
- Drive research initiatives and contribute to the development of novel diagnostic assays and methodologies
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and quality assurance protocols
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or equivalent degree with specialization in Pathology
- Board certification in Anatomic Pathology or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in histopathology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of managing a high-volume histopathology laboratory
- Expertise in diagnostic histopathology, including proficiency in advanced techniques such as immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology
Preferred:
- Experience in a clinical research environment or translational medicine
- Familiarity with digital pathology and telepathology technologies
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Advanced knowledge of histopathological techniques and diagnostic criteria
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR)
- Experience with molecular diagnostics and genomic profiling
