Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Head of Dermatopathology to lead our dermatopathology team, driving clinical excellence and innovation in diagnostic services. In this role, you will shape the future of our dermatopathology offerings, ensuring the highest quality of patient care while fostering a collaborative and progressive environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the dermatopathology department, overseeing all diagnostic processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Develop and implement innovative diagnostic methodologies and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy of dermatopathology services
- Collaborate with clinical teams to provide expert consultation and support for complex cases, driving interdisciplinary collaboration
- Mentor and train pathologists and laboratory staff, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Participate in quality assurance programs and initiatives, driving improvements in diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes
- Engage in clinical research and contribute to publications and presentations in dermatopathology
- Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively to align with organizational goals
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in dermatopathology
- 10+ years of experience in dermatopathology, with a strong background in clinical practice and leadership
- Demonstrated expertise in complex dermatopathology diagnoses and consultation
- Proven track record of managing teams and driving departmental success
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership role within a high-volume dermatopathology practice
- Involvement in clinical research and contributions to peer-reviewed journals
- Familiarity with digital pathology and telepathology technologies
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of dermatopathology diagnostic techniques and technologies
- Proficient in utilizing laboratory information systems and electronic health records
- Experience with digital imaging and pathology software
