Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Health Records Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of patient health information by managing electronic health records (EHR) systems and assisting with data entry, verification, and retrieval processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and maintenance of electronic health records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Perform data entry tasks to input patient information into the EHR system, including demographic data, medical histories, and treatment plans
- Review and verify data for completeness and accuracy, escalating discrepancies as needed
- Support healthcare providers by retrieving and organizing patient records for clinical use
- Contribute to quality assurance efforts by participating in audits and assisting with the resolution of data integrity issues
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate degree or certification in Health Information Management, Medical Records Technology, or a related field
- Basic understanding of electronic health record systems and healthcare documentation standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Preferred:
- Experience working with EHR systems in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with health information privacy regulations such as HIPAA
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data entry and management software
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare coding systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and EHR platforms
