Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Manager to take charge of our health information systems and data management processes. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient health information while adhering to industry regulations and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of health information systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the collection, storage, and retrieval of health information
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality and integrity across health information management processes
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize workflow and enhance electronic health record (EHR) usability
- Conduct regular audits of health information systems to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Provide training and support to staff on health information management best practices and tools
- Act as a liaison between IT, clinical staff, and management to ensure seamless integration of health information systems
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in health information management or a similar role
- Certified Health Information Manager (CHIM) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards related to health information
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience with EHR implementation and optimization
- Proficiency in health information management software and data analytics tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Strong understanding of health information systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools
- Experience with coding systems, including ICD-10 and CPT
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure and database management
