Role Overview
We are in search of a Health Information Manager to lead our data governance and management strategies, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of health information systems. This pivotal role requires a proactive leader who can navigate the complexities of health data management while fostering a culture of compliance and excellence within our organization.
Responsibilities
Data Governance and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for health information systems, including policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and other healthcare compliance standards, conducting regular audits and assessments.
- Develop and implement strategies for data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, leveraging best practices in health information management.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of health information professionals, promoting ongoing training and professional development.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to enhance interoperability and usability of health information systems.
- Drive initiatives to foster a data-driven culture, encouraging staff engagement in data quality and reporting processes.
System Optimization and Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and technology enhancements to streamline health information workflows.
- Evaluate and implement new health information technologies that align with organizational goals and enhance data management capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in health information management or related roles, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of health information systems, data governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
- Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or similar certification is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and health information exchange (HIE) initiatives.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams in a healthcare setting.
- Master's degree in a related field or additional certifications in health information management.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in health information management software and data analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of database management, data warehousing, and reporting tools.
- Experience with health information interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
