Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities and Grounds Manager to lead and oversee the management of our facilities and grounds operations. This role is essential in ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards, promoting a safe, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing environment. You'll be responsible for strategic planning, operational excellence, and fostering a culture of sustainability within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive facilities management strategies that align with organizational goals and sustainability practices.
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of facilities and grounds, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for facility-related services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high service levels.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and grounds, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions.
- Coordinate space planning and allocation to optimize the use of facilities and support organizational growth.
- Lead a team of facilities staff, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to foster professional development.
- Develop and manage budgets for facilities operations and capital projects, ensuring financial accountability and resource optimization.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management or a related field, including experience in grounds management.
- Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance systems, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Proven experience in managing budgets and contracts effectively.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully leading facilities projects.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse team.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and green building practices.
- Familiarity with building management systems and technology.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in facilities management software and maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Strong data analysis skills to inform decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
