Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Documentation Manager to lead our documentation strategy, ensuring that our technical writing adheres to the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and usability. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create, manage, and enhance comprehensive documentation that supports our products and services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement documentation strategies and processes that align with product development cycles
- Oversee the production of technical documentation, user manuals, API documentation, and other materials
- Manage a team of technical writers, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather information and ensure technical accuracy
- Establish and enforce documentation standards, ensuring consistency across all platforms
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing documentation to maintain relevancy and quality
- Utilize feedback mechanisms to continuously improve documentation based on user experience and needs
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation management
- Proven track record of managing documentation projects from inception to delivery
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to translate them into user-friendly content
- Experience with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Confluence, or similar
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a technical or software development environment
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of information architecture and UX design principles
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in documentation and content management systems
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing documentation
- Ability to create and maintain style guides for documentation
